Standing at the tower watching, the vampire and the wizard quietly talk about things of old. A time when life held so much more excitement.
The vampire's idea: to watch and influence the lives of two ...two chosen from a kennel of slaves. They had just caught her eye and she points them out to the wizard as they try to sneak out away from their captors. She wants to see how much they want life, to see what they would do to be free..to what extremes they would go.
The wizard leans against the arch and watches with her, feeling her excitement slowly building. This will take some time...something finally to keep their attention and keep them from the boredom that seems to surface in all creatures of immortality.
**************
Huddling in the darkness she can feel her heart pound. Does she remember what it was like before she came here? It is fuzzy. She has been here for as long as she can remember. Being trained, taught to serve in ways that should not be allowed. She shivers at the thought of being touched ..hands..mouths....the things she has been made to endure.
It is not supposed to be this way. She is sure of it. When she leaves here she will never have to lay down and let anyone do this. Her body responds, excited. She whimpers - why does it hunger for those things? She will learn to control it.
The door - left open. Never before has that happened! Peering out she sees .... another huddling as she is. Maybe it is a trap. Maybe it is someone she can escape with. Her dark eyes look out trying to determine who it is.
He watches her huddling as he is. Why are both of them out their cells? This must be for the amusement of their captors. Are they watching to see if they will run? He looks and sees no one. She is one of those who has been raised here. Pampered and well kept - bah. But it is better for two than for one, besides he can use her - if they are captured he can say that he followed her and is bringing her back. Smiling to himself . Yes, he can do that. He was a warrior once - now he has been a slave. Forced to do manual labor, broken down. He will rise once more.
He motions to her, knowing she is watching him.
She seeing him motioning toward her...should she go? She crouches and moves through the shadows to him. Heart pounding - oh please don't let it be a trap. Her dark eyes look up at him ..full lips trembling slightly...some from the cold ..some from fear.
He takes her by the hand and pulls her with him as he slowly makes his way around the inner wall. A door is open slightly. Freedom is so close!
Noises behind them. Someone is up! He pushes her forward making her run. Out the door and quickly to the forest. The sun is beginning to rise; they both know for now they are safe. Only for now. The vampires will rest now. They run through the forest to the coastline before falling down exhausted...well she does. He looks at her, covered in sweat, tears streaking her face. Neither have spoken any words.
For the first time they look at one another.
She has long flowing waves of chesnut colored hair that brushes down her back almost touching her ass. Eyes he thought were dark are actually golden brown. Skin slick from sweat is tanned in color. Large breasts heave up and down. Her dress is short and the tops of her breasts are exposed with a deep neckline. It wraps around her giving her a very seductive look. The royal blue color almost gives her a glow.
He has a strong jawline. Blonde hair brushes his neck - he has it half pulled up so his face is exposed, keeping his sight free. She peeks from beneath her hair to notice how cold his eyes are...so blue they are almost clear. A warrior's body beneath the clothes of a slave. Muscles twitch a little as he relaxes, keeping watch around them.
He walks to the water and leans over, smelling it and tasting it for salt.
"Come and drink". His voice is rich and deep, making her jump a little.
She moves to the water and drinks from her hands. So refreshing. He watches as the water pours over her as she drinks. Looking away he shakes his head...pleasure slaves are not for his taste. They are pretty to look at but he would never touch one.
"We will rest here". He sounds almost disgusted...she looks up wondering why his tone is that way. He watches her as she lays there, eyes closed, her breathing slow and shallow. Shaking his head he wonders if she is good for anything.
*************
The warrior in him is once again free. He lifts his face to the sun, feeling its warmth finally out of the walls. Inside he knows lies a beast one wanting to be free. Control is something that grows with age ..something his father always said. Ceranos stands and slips into the forest around them ..they will have to eat.
The sun is high in the sky when she opens her eyes. Sweat has formed on her nose. Kyiana sits up and looks around. He is gone. She looks around - seeing no one she slips her dress off and walks into the water. It is cold but refreshing. She splashes a little and swims away from the shore, enjoying the water on her skin. She has never been where people were not watching her..this is so different. Laying against a rock she thinks back - she does not remember a time when she was not there. The vampire would control everything they did. She shivers from the memories.
Walking back into the makeshift camp he does not see her - only her dress laying over a branch. Did they come for her? He sees her and stops. She is a beauty. That is the truth. Body wet... long hair clinging to her.. she does not see him. He feels many things stirring inside him.
"We need to eat." His voice startles her and she stands up, covering herself with her hands. She waits as he turns his back to work on something in his hands. Hurrying out of the water she slips her dress over her head. It clings to her wet body.
"I needed to wash." Her statement was simple and for some reason it makes him mad. He bites his tongue to keep from lashing out. He motions to a collection of berries and fruit he found - it will do until he can make a weapon and find them real food. He keeps his distance from her and there are only the sounds of them eating.
The day grows longer. It is time to travel more. They have to be at a safe place soon. Ceranos washes his hands and pours water over his head. She looks at him quietly, watching as he pulls his fingers through his hair. Her breath quickens...what is wrong with her..she swore no one would ever touch her and yet there is a need she does not understand inside her building...
He keeps his back to her and says "it's time." He moves along the river heading further away from the tower where they had both been prisoners. She follows. As he muses on a time when he was not as he is now, the hunter in him keeps a pace that she cannot keep up with. Lost in his thoughts he does not notice she has stopped to rest.
Sitting on a rock she catches her breath for a moment. Her body is hot from walking. Sweat streams down her. Friction from her legs has made an ache between them...she is wet..from need. Tears fall down her face as she touches herself. It should not be this way. Her fingers touch her clit and quickly bring herself to release. The throbbing has stopped for now... standing she continues to cry not understanding her body and its needs.
Kyiana looks for signs of the way he went. Wiping her face, she continues to follow the river knowing that is the safest route for her.
The sun is beginning to set. Ceranos turns to tell her they will be stopping to rest soon. She is not there. Where is she? He pauses for a moment listening..nothing but the sounds of the river. Wait, no. A sobbing..is she hurt? Damn it he should keep a better eye on her. Hurrying back the way he came he finds her. Head down sobbing softly as she moves.
He touches her shoulder. "Are you hurt?" She looks up at him. Her eyes are breathtaking. So needy and scared. He kicks himself ..he did this. "Come - we will rest and then move into the woods for a while. It gives us more cover."
************
Ceranos looks around them, taking in their surroundings. The river seems to stretch for miles. Rocks scattered in it, no real strong current. Just gentle water flowing, cresting across rocks and trees lying in its path. The woods are thick. He smells the air - crisp, almost calming. The trees are dark in color. They stretch high..taller than any he had seen before. The bank of the river has soft grass..very cool to the touch. Flowers are scattered everywhere. It is actually a true paradise.
"Hold these and I will make a fire." His voice for the first time not full of anger and disgust. He locates rocks to make a circle and builds a small pit for a fire. He was taught this skill as a child. He knows she would die out here without him. A fact that has been in his head throughout the day now.
Motioning to her, he takes one stick and holds his fish right above the fire. He points for her to do the same. Sitting together they cook their fish quietly.
"I know this is hard for you. Do you have a place to go?" She shakes her head no. "Where are you from? Do you remember?" Her voice is soft and quivering. "I have known no other place. All my memories are from there."
The fish cook quickly. He shows her how to pull it apart and eat the fish from the inside. Teaching her to eat. Laughing at the faces she makes as she bites down.
"Look. I do not know what happens when we get completely free. My family I am sure will find a place for you. So don't worry." Smiling shyly she lowers her head. "Thank you." her voice is but a whisper.
They sit in awkward silence. The world seems to be moving in slowmotion around both of them. They are lost in thoughts neither understand.
He looks around. Pity they dont have any supplies - this would be a good place to stay for a little while.
"We will continue in the morning. We need a day of rest."
Looking up at him she realizes he just gives her orders and she follows. It never hit her until that moment. Yes he knows more than she does about this world but ..she is not his slave.
"How about asking me instead of telling me?' Her voice almost quivers as she speaks up.
He turns slowly and looks at her. He just does not have words. She has been listening good until now why is she doing this now. Does she not realize it is dangerous to be exhausted and push..? Shaking his head he turns from her.
***************
Horses shake the ground. They can hear the men talking. Huddled down together. He slowly peers over the rocks where they are hiding. Two men are there in their makeshift camp talking. "Hello?" One of the men calls out. "Is there anyone here?"
"Yes, if we trespass we are sorry. Our party was attacked and we have been running along the river hoping to find a town. We will be moving on."
"Were you injured? We? Our father would have our heads if we did not offer help."
Ceranos motions for Kyiana to come out.
Stepping out the two men catch their breath. The younger of the two flushes completely - never had he seen such a beauty. Ceranos finds himself angry at their expressions.
"Yes, my wife." He pulls her to his side. She looks up confused.
"Ah, a lucky man. Come, have a real meal and we will take you to town." The younger man gets off his horse and offers it to the couple before doubling up with his brother.
Laying her head on his back she trembles against him as they follow the men to their father's house. Their bodies touching, moving with the movements of the horse. Riding close together she lays her head down for a moment, breathing in his scent. Her warmth covers him - he almost touches her arms but instead quickly spurs the horse faster to follow the two brothers.
The house is a large one and the land contains many horses, large barns, lush fields of vines. Ceranos notices many people here, but it is probably a family farm with a few servants. He touches her leg causing her to jerk her head up looking around. Several men gather to help them down.
An older man stands out in front of the large house. The younger brother is speaking with him before they are fully off their horses.
Ceranos and Kyiana walk up slowly hands clasped together.
"Forgive our tresspass. We were trying to find our way to a town so my family can be contacted." Ceranos speaks clearly and sincerely. Kyiana clings to him - she looks like a lost doe, scared and timid.
The man nods.
A knock brings her to stand quickly. The door opens slowly and two very lovely ladies are there. They quickly shoo Ceranos out of the room.
He rejoins them in the big room. Its a large room with chairs in various positions. A man's room. The fireplace burns softly. They are talking of the vineyard and of harvest coming. He listens quietly. Julies offers him a drink. He takes it and drinks it politely.
"So, Ceranos is it? Tell me of where you come from." Julies offers him a seat close to him. Ceranos takes it, his mind racing as to what to say. He is saved by a whirlwind of pink dresses and blonde hair. The twins have arrived with Kyiana close behind.
She walks in the room and he catches his breath. He has never seen her looking that way. He has never really seen any woman who made him catch his breath in that way. She looks like a goddess come down to torment mere mortals with her beauty.
Standing quickly, his face flushes as she walks over to him and smiles. Something inside stirs that he knows would be a problem. He can feel the primal beast inside him fighting its way out.

Kyiana eats quietly, watching this man as he looks around. He scares her and she does not know why. Maybe it is the tone in his voice. She can tell he does not like her too much but she is dependent on him now. What is she going to do? She could just stay here. It is not that close to the castle..to the tower...just the thought of it makes her shiver. A tear falls down her cheek. She is truly alone in this world..no purpose..no reason.
Splashing in the water draws Ceranos' attention. Fish are jumping out of the water in dark areas. Nice..something much better than berries. He takes off his shoes and rolls up his pants. He motions for her to stay and be quiet. He walks to the water slowly wading out and he waits. Standing in the water watching the fish as they start to swim around his ankles. Leaning over very slowly fingers barely touching the water.
She watches him with a very curious look. He surely cannot catch a fish with his bare hands! He grabs and tosses to the bank a large trout. She squeals and tries to keep it from going back in the water, holding it as it wiggles.
He tosses another up further up on the bank of the river. He smiles, watching her struggle with the fish. Shaking his head he walks up to where she is. Laughing he takes the fish from her. He takes both and pushes sticks through them.
She smiles ..it was kinda funny. He hands them to her.
"Hold these and I will make a fire." His voice for the first time not full of anger and disgust. He locates rocks to make a circle and builds a small pit for a fire. He was taught this skill as a child. He knows she would die out here without him. A fact that has been in his head throughout the day now.
Leaning over blowing on the small smoldering ember she watches with fascination as a fire begins to take hold. Placing leaves and some small sticks over the fire building it up slowly.

Carefully looking at them, Ceranos realizes they are not looking for them..they are hunters from their garb.
Leaning close to the girl he whispers..do as i say and be quiet. Standing up he calls back. "yes, here."

The men look at him. "You are on land that belongs to our father. Are you passing through?"

"The forest can sometimes hold great evils. Come and get cleaned up proper. Eat and we will take you to town on the morrow. I am Julies Vineta, and this is my vineyard. We make the best wine in this land and the next. Those are my sons, Aiden and Tristen. They will see to your needs. I am sure we have clothes here that you can change into. My daughters will be returning shortly."
He motions to the inside of the house and Ceranos and Kyiana follow him in. They are taken to a room to freshen up in. Kyiana is stunned by the size of the bed. It looks so inviting. She touches it hesitantly, then sits on it bouncing up and down a little.
Ceranos is washing his face and turns to look at her. She is acting like a child. So many thoughts go through his head. What will happen to her when they reach his family? How will she survive being anything other than a slave? She has never experienced things most take for granted. A sad expression crosses his face.
As Kyiana looks up she quickly stops thinking she has done something very wrong. Lowering her head she almost feels like a scolded animal. Yet no words have passed between them.
****************
A knock brings her to stand quickly. The door opens slowly and two very lovely ladies are there. They quickly shoo Ceranos out of the room.
They are the daughters of Julies, Ashley and Lailana, twins, their long gold hair cascading down to their waists, blue eyes that could stop the heart of any man. They both giggle and laugh talking together. So excited to see someone new. Kyiana quickly picks up on the excitement and let the girls help her wash and dress. The dresses are a little tight in the busom she is more ..well she is more in some places than the girls. They ramble on how being lost must be so bad and where is she from..how long has she been married. Luckily they never stop to let her answer.
Ceranos walks downstairs to find the men all there talking. They welcome him. Some clothes are offered for him to change into. He cleans up a bit and changes into the first clothing in over a year that was not slave clothes. It feel good ....to be free. But he knows he must not let anyone know where he comes from.

The meal is hearty and the wine plentiful, the conversation mostly controlled by the two girls and details of their trip. He does not hear anything really being said around him. He would have to take a long walk later and gather control of himself.
After a good dinner they all sit outside, watching the sun begin to go down.
"So, how long have you two been married?" The question punches through his reverie and makes him pause for a moment.
"Only a few weeks." Kyiana quickly speaks up. She watches him - why is he acting that way? She did not understand and the way he watched her made her blush deeply.
